Update on shooting!

A man killed during an armed robbery at a Papa John's restaurant late Sunday may not have been a suspect in the crime, police said.

Police said it is possible the person killed may have just been caught in the crossfire in the gunfight between the robbers and Chino police.

"It's unknown what his involvement was, if any, in this crime," said Michelle Van Der Linden.
One Chino police officer and two robbery suspects were also wounded in the shooting in the 12600 block of Central Avenue.

Police received a call at 10:13 p.m. about an armed robbery at the restaurant. The gunfight began when officers arrived at the scene.

Paramedics took the officer and two suspects to hospitals for treatment. The officer was in stable condition. The condition of the robbers was not known.

"The person who is dead is not being named as a suspect," Van Der Linden said.
